Ways to Support GRASP

1. Contribute Online:

About State Tax Credits

Neighborhood Assistance Program Tax Credits

Gifts of $500 or more may qualify for Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) Tax Credits for up to 65% of the donation. GRASP receives a new allocation of tax credits on July 1 of each year. Millie Manley will be happy to assist you with questions regarding current availability of tax credits. Millie can be reached at (804) 527-7726 or mmanley@grasp4va.org.

Educational Improvement Scholarship Program Tax Credits

Provides state tax credits for persons or businesses making monetary or marketable securities donations to foundations that provide scholarships to eligible students and children attending eligible preK-12 private schools and eligible nonpublic pre-kindergarten programs. While all low-income students are eligible for assistance under the GRASP program, we have a special interest in students with disabilities as those students not only have to overcome poverty but often have learning disabilities requiring additional educational support. Qualified personal or business donations may be eligible for a 65% Virginia income tax credit.  Please consult your tax professional.

2. Contribute by Mail

Please make checks payable to GRASP. You may mail your gift to:
2821 Emerywood Parkway, Suite 204
Richmond, VA 23294

Your gifts can honor, celebrate, or memorialize a loved one. Please designate the name of the honoree and address to which a recognition card should be sent should you desire this recognition.

3. CONTRIBUTE GIFTS OF STOCK, QUALIFIED CHARITABLE DEDUCTIONS FROM A RETIREMENT ACCOUNT, or a Bequest

  • Give a gift of stock and benefit from immediate tax incentives, such as advantageous AGI limitations, Fair Market Value deductions for a broader range of gifts, and generally no capital gains tax.

  • Qualified Charitable Donations. When planning your IRA or other retirement plan withdrawal strategy, you may want to consider making charitable donations as a Qualified Charitable Contribution, QCD. Consider donating to GRASP from your IRA, or other retirement account, as part of your required minimum distribution and receive the benefit of using before tax dollars plus a Virginia income tax credit of up to 65%. Please consult your tax professional. Current IRS rules for 2023.

  • Include GRASP in your estate plan, an approach you may want to explore with your personal attorney regarding your charitable intentions, financial and estate plans, and tax laws. Please complete and return this form to document your intended bequest.
