How did GRASP and its advisors help you in high school/college?
GRASP was an amazing support since I was in high school, with help doing my FASFA. I am a first generation college student so there were many things my family didn’t know about. The monthly emails were helpful because they either provided insightful information about advising, tutoring, or career help offered in most colleges. Other monthly emails, I was able to reflect on things I have accomplished that month. Overall, it was comforting to receive a monthly check in email and a personal response to the email.
What are you doing now?
Right now, I am about to start a full time tutoring position at Richmond City High School. I will also be studying for my MCAT during this time which I plan to take in January 2024.
What one piece of “educational advice” would you give to high school students?
Be open minded! Learning what does not interest you is just as important as learning what does interest you.
What’s a challenge you faced relative to your educational path?
Learning how to be sure of myself
